Having had the honor of collaborating with esteemed Vietnamese traditional musicians like Ngo Hong Quang, Minh Dan Moi, the flutist Hoang Anh, and the Zither player Mai Le, I set out to share a diverse array of Vietnamese music at the multicultural showcase, 'Fuse.' Traditional culture is vibrant, constantly in motion and evolving, I feel priviledged to be a part of it.
Fuse is a cultural event celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Canada. Despite being two countries from different continents with distinct cultures and languages, on the stage of FUSE - Converging Threads of Light, people from both nations have found each other, bridging all distances and forming deep emotional connections through art. FUSE - Converging Threads of Light stands as an affirmation: Canada and Vietnam, though different, find harmony in the art that weaves their beautiful values together.

"The essence of traditional music has been expressed with a contemporary touch in the performances by musician Ngô Hồng Quang and his friends. With the piece 'Tình Đàn', Ngô Hồng Quang passionately expresses his love for the traditional instrument, the
Đàn Tính, which has accompanied him to performances around the world. Meanwhile, the beauty of cultural and artistic fusion comes vividly to life in the musical piece 'Mưa Rơi' (Falling Rain). The spirited singing, infused with the breath of the mountains and forests by Ngô Hồng Quang, Trung Bao, Minh Dan Moi, Hoang Anh Flute and Mai Lê along with the unique sound of the mouth harp, provided a rhythmic foundation for circus artist Julien Deforges to suspend himself in mid-air and perform professional acrobatics, leaving a strong impression on the audience."

These are the points of contact between artists and the audience that were previously hard to come by. The combination contributes to spreading diverse perspectives and fostering empathy among communities that seemed different before.”
